What Are the Benefits of GCSE Science Tuition?

Science is a wide-ranging subject that requires real-world, practical knowledge as well as academic understanding. We help your child to build their skills and confidence through tailored in-person tutoring. These are the benefits of science tuition at GCSE level:

  • Full GCSE preparation. We work to prepare your child for exams in biology, physics and chemistry all together, or just the individual subjects where they need more support. Whatever your child needs, we can adapt to help them achieve the grades they deserve.
  • Lessons with a qualified tutor. Your child’s teacher will focus on their specific areas of improvement and tailor lessons to fill gaps in their knowledge, ensuring they are ready for their science GCSEs.
  • Improved confidence in science. We can help your child to feel comfortable with their subjects – we know the classroom can be an intimidating place. With our support, pupils gain confidence and are in a better frame of mind to learn.

How Do We Help Your Child Reach GCSE Success in Science?

We teach our pupils a range of skills through written exercises, practice exam papers, group work, computer-based tasks and more. Our process involves:

  1. An initial assessment. This is a relaxed, informal discussion lasting around 30-60 minutes which we use to identify our areas of focus for tutoring.
  2. Programme design. We put together a bespoke programme for your child, setting actionable and achievable objectives.
  3. Initial meeting. Your child meets with their tutor, helping them to feel happy, confident and comfortable ahead of their lessons.
  4. Tutoring begins. This consists of a 70-minute sessions every week, helping your child achieve GCSE science success.

What exam syllabuses and exam boards do we cover?

Science Tuition FAQs

How much does Science tutoring cost at Leeds Tuition Centre?

Prices are £33 per 70-minute session. For more details on our pricing, click here.

How do I know my child needs a private Science tutor?
They are feeling stressed or worried; they are not meeting their full potential; they’re not progressing as fast they are with other subjects; there are gaps in their knowledge, or they’re disappointed with their Science grade after a recent end of term assessment. They’ve moved up a set are not coping with the new topics; the pace of the lesson (quicker) and previous topics are missing because they joined the set later in the year.
What exam syllabuses do Science tutors cover?
GCSEs, SATs and 11+.
How do I know my child is ready for Science tutoring?

They avoid doing their homework, getting into trouble at school in their Science class, and looking slightly withdrawn or confused by what they are supposed to be doing in class.  However, to fully understand whether they need a tutor, an Initial Consultation, which looks at their strengths and weaknesses in Science from basic skills to GCSE questions (if appropriate) will certainly flag up any problem areas.

I’m very proud of our son Jacob. His continued hard work, commitment and humility has meant that he’s moved up sets in maths and is on target to do well in his GCSEs. I admire his discipline so much

A big thanks to Joanna from Leeds Tuition Centre too. For her combined kindness and professionalism when teaching our sons. I highly recommend her.

Thank you for your good work and I have embarked on marketing you to parents who come into contact with me.
